2. What data we collect

a) Contact form

When you use the contact form on our website, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the type of enquiry you select, your message, and any other information you choose to provide.

b) Automatically collected data

Like most websites, we use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that collect aggregate, non-identifying technical data such as approximate location, browser type, device type, and pages visited, to help us understand how the site is used. See our cookie notice for details.

3. How your contact form data is handled

When you submit the contact form, your enquiry is sent by email using a third-party email delivery provider, Resend. Resend processes the content of your message solely to deliver it to us; it is not used for advertising or shared with any other party. Your enquiry is sent to Craig's inbox at craig@mortgagelocal.co.uk, and your email address is set as the reply-to address so Craig can respond to you directly.

We use a spam-prevention check (Cloudflare Turnstile) to help keep the form free of automated abuse. This does not use tracking cookies.

We may share your information with mortgage lenders, insurance providers and solicitors where necessary to progress an enquiry you've asked us to take forward, with regulatory bodies such as the FCA where legally required, and with trusted IT and hosting providers (including Resend, for email delivery, and Cloudflare, for hosting) who support our website and systems. We will never sell your personal data to third parties.

7. Data storage and retention

We store personal data securely within the UK or EEA
Enquiry data is retained only as long as necessary to handle your enquiry
If you proceed with mortgage or protection advice, your data will be stored in line with FCA record-keeping requirements, typically six years
If you don't proceed, we may retain your details for up to 12 months before securely deleting them
